Boiler Repair, Install & Replacement near Messer Street in Providence, RI

Evergreen Services arrived on site after the tenant reported a gas odor. Rhode Island Energy responded but was unable to locate the source at that time. The gas was shut off, and the boiler’s gas valve and electrical switch were turned off. The homeowner was advised to contact an HVAC company because the pilot was out.

The 80% gas steam boiler is located in the basement. We inspected the system wiring and components and found the thermocouple in poor condition. Annual heating maintenance was recommended, but the homeowner declined and authorized thermocouple replacement only.

After replacing the thermocouple, we found that the silver gas tubing was kinked and damaged, causing a gas leak. The system was left off. We will return tomorrow with the proper materials to replace the damaged tubing and address the leak. Home owner had already paid for today’s visit collected full balance.
