Isolate fixture
Drain pressure off the lines
Remove shower valve trim
Remove shower spindle
Remove hot and cold water seats
Install new shower spindle
Install new hot and cold water seats
Reassemble valve
Test for leaks and proper function
Reinstall shower trim

Rebuilding the existing Symmons valve from replaces internal components, however due to potential age, internal body wear or mineral erosion of the valve body itself, a rebuild cannot guarantee the valve will perform to 100% original factory specifications. if internal body damage exist full valve replacement may still be required.
