Evergreen came out for another air conditioning on new system installed within 12-24 months ago.
Evergreen services found the thermostat was not calling for cooling when it was set to cool.
Replaced thermostat and the low voltage fuse in the unit failed once the thermostat sent a call and energized contactor.
Purchase and install new low voltage fuse on control board.
Service expert tested the contactor and found it to be in good condition.
Service expert then removed both end of existing T-stat wire from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit and tested continuity.
Service expert found that the wire has a short in it and is touching contacts when not energized with a call from the thermostat.
Then found that the siding was installed last week and that the siding crew hit the wire with a screw or crushed the thermostat wire.
Purchase and installed new Thermostat wire penetrating dwelling running down to condenser from above drop ceiling in kitchen.
Turned on outdoor unit and tested for proper operation.
Sealed penetrations with silicone to prevent any water from entering dwelling.

Please note: Evergreen Services recommends installing 3/4” PVC where ever it was removed for siding to be installed. Currently some condensate drains are cut directly below 90 elbow below penetrations where line set, thermostat wires, and condensate drains are running.
Thermostat Wire is not covered under Warranty due to siding contractors having shorted/buried wire behind sheet metal siding.
