Evergreen Services arrived on site to perform annual heating maintenance on the 90% high-efficiency Goodman forced-air gas furnace located in the basement. Upon arrival, the thermostat was raised 5°F above the room temperature to initiate a call for heat. The furnace failed to start and displayed error code EE2, indicating a pressure-switch fault.

System wiring and operating components were inspected. During the startup sequence, the inducer motor produced an abnormal winding/grinding noise and failed to create the negative pressure required to close the pressure switch. As a result, the furnace remained in safety lockout and could not complete the ignition sequence.

Replacement of the defective inducer motor assembly is recommended. The annual heating maintenance could not be fully completed because the furnace was not operational. After the inducer motor is replaced, the system should be restarted, tested through a complete heating cycle, and the annual maintenance completed to confirm safe and proper operation. Customer stated and do inducer motor along with furnace was replaced not too long ago checked history and do some motor was replaced four years ago, so there are no warranties on replacement of motor.
Evergreen Services will replace the defective draft inducer motor assembly on the 90% high-efficiency Goodman forced-air gas furnace located in the basement.

Work will include:

* Shut off electrical power and gas supply to the furnace before beginning repairs.
* Remove the furnace access panels and disconnect the electrical wiring from the existing inducer motor.
* Disconnect the pressure-switch tubing and inspect it for cracks, restrictions, moisture, or debris.
* Disconnect the inducer motor assembly from the PVC venting connection.
* Remove the defective inducer motor and clean the mounting surface.
* Install the correct manufacturer-approved replacement inducer motor assembly with new gaskets and seals as required.
