Boiler Repair, Install & Replacement near Reynolds Street in East Greenwich, RI

Evergreen Services arrived on-site to perform annual heating maintenance on a 90% high-efficiency Weil-McLain forced-hot-water gas boiler located in the basement.

Upon arrival, the thermostat was raised approximately 5°F above room temperature to initiate a call for heat. The boiler started and operated without issue. The system wiring, electrical connections, safety controls, circulating components, venting, combustion-air piping, condensate drainage system, burner assembly, flame sensor, heat exchanger, and system water pressure were inspected. The boiler was cleaned as needed and cycled through normal operation to confirm proper ignition, circulation, and shutdown.

During the inspection, the following conditions were identified:

* The condensate neutralizer media is depleted and should be replaced. Fresh neutralizer media is necessary to properly treat the acidic condensate produced by the high-efficiency boiler before it enters the drainage system.
* The existing 40-gallon SuperStor Ultra stainless-steel indirect-fired water heater shows visible corrosion and signs of water leakage. Continued deterioration could result in increased leakage, water damage, and eventual failure of the storage tank.

Evergreen Services recommends replacing the condensate neutralizer media and replacing the corroded indirect-fired water heater as soon as possible to prevent further damage and maintain reliable domestic hot-water service.

At the completion of today’s maintenance, the boiler was tested and found to be operating properly under the current conditions.
